Agro-allied Cooperatives must position themselves for the opportunities in the agriculture value chain. Funders are looking for serious coops to deal with. The need to run agriculture as a business cannot be overemphasized. Issues of team dynamics, effective leadership and proper management of financial resources are necessary for growth.

Agriculture is the  highest employer of labour in the world and Nigeria is blessed with lush vegetation and fertile soils. Agriculture continues to feed the nation years on end. I keep wondering why we allowed the sector to die after feeding the country and bringing huge revenues before the advent of oil. I am also glad that even though we wandered away from Agriculture, we have gradually returned to it.
